Empowering immigrant communities through education, advocacy, and economic opportunity
RAIN empowers immigrant communities by providing free, accurate legal information, culturally competent assistance, digital skills & website support for small immigrant businesses, and community education to protect rights and expand economic opportunity.
A Bay Area where every immigrant knows their rights, can access trusted legal help, and runs thriving small businesses. We envision a future where immigrant communities flourish with dignity, opportunity, and justice.
RAIN was founded in response to the growing need for accessible, trustworthy legal information and business support for immigrant communities in the San Francisco Bay Area. As immigration enforcement intensified and misinformation spread, we recognized that knowledge is power — and that every immigrant deserves to know their rights.
What began as grassroots Know Your Rights workshops quickly expanded to include legal navigation services, DACA support, and digital assistance for immigrant-owned small businesses. We saw entrepreneurs with incredible talent who lacked basic digital tools to reach customers, apply for funding, or manage their operations online.
Today, RAIN serves hundreds of families each month through our comprehensive programs, emergency hotline, and community workshops. We partner with trusted legal organizations like SFILDC and ILRC to ensure our community receives the highest quality support. Our work is driven by the belief that immigrant communities are essential to the fabric of the Bay Area — and that they deserve nothing less than dignity, opportunity, and justice.
